What do you think about the World Baseball Classic?

Thus far the United States team looks like this:

Manager: Davey Johnson

Catcher: Brian McCann

First Base: Kevin Youkilis

Second Base: Dustin Pedroia

Shortstop: Derek Jeter (captain)

Third Base: David Wright

Left Field: Larry "Chipper" Jones

Center Field: Grady Sizemore

Right Field: Ryan Braun

Bench: Jimmy Rollins, Mark DeRosa

Rotation: Roy Oswalt, John Lackey

Bullpen: Joe Nathan

Thats one hell of a team thus far if you ask me. But the question isn't whether or not you think the team is looking good. Its whether or not you like your teams players playing in it? The Yankees new Trio (Burnett, Teixiera, Sabathia) have already declined to play. Most likely due to the fact that they were just paid ALOT of money by the Yankees to play for the Yankees, not the team that doesn't mean anything after March. I, myself enjoy watching the World Baseball Class, mostly because I love baseball in general. I woke up at 5am in 2006 to watch the opening round in Japan on ESPN every morning. But to me, if my teams players can avoid playing in the WBC, I would like them to skip it. I will enjoy watching Jeter represent the US and Rodriguez represent the DR, but it would be an understatement to say it would be a disaster if one of them pull up lame running out a ground ball in a useless game. Its more or less the players like Cano, and Chamberlain who I don't want to see participating. My reason for Cano being that he should be concerned about how he does for the Yankees this season considering how he played last season. As for Chamberlain, he had the tendinitis problem at the end of the season, and thats one thing I would hate for that to be reaggrivated. Not to mention his innings limit would be affected, and we need Chamberlain pitching for the Yankees every opportunity he can.

All I know is, I will be going to at least 11 games this season, and I don't want a major part of the Yankees on the DL because of the World Baseball Classic. 11 games + the ridiculous price of the ticket, I would not be happy seeing Cody Ransom (as much as I like the guy) starting over at 3rd base in place of an injured A-Rod
